Mr Ng Lip Chih was educated at the London School of Economics and Political Science and is qualified as a solicitor in England. Upon graduation in 1996, he joined the largest law firm in Singapore as a pupil and subsequently as an associate. He was made a Partner after six years in 2001.
In 2004, Lip Chih was seconded to SGX to act as its Head of Enforcement.
After spending ten years at the law firm, Lip Chih founded Ng Lip Chih & Co. In 2009, Lip Chih founded NLC Law Asia LLP and was appointed to act as its Managing Partner. In 2014, Lip Chih founded NLC Law Asia LLC and was appointed to act as its Managing Director.
In April 2017, Lip Chih joined Foo & Quek LLC to head Foo & Quek LLC’s new Disputes Resolution and Business Law Services departments.
While his expertise is in corporate and commercial litigation, Lip Chih has extensive experience in a wide range of practice areas including but not limited to white collar crime, corporate matters, employment matters, family & matrimonial matters, estate matters, criminal law and insolvency matters.
Lip Chih has been instructed on numerous high profile cases and his clientele includes international clients from Japan, China, Indonesia, Holland and the USA.
Lip Chih has been appointed by the Minister For Law to act as a Statutory Member of the Singapore Law Society Council pursuant to Section 48(1)(B) of the Legal Profession from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2018. Lip Chih has been re-appointed by the Minister For Law to act as a Statutory Member of the Singapore Law Society Council pursuant to Section 48(1)(B) of the Legal Profession from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2020.
Lip Chih is also a committee member of the Professional Development And Practice Chapter, Singapore Academy of Law. The Professional Development And Practice Chapter focuses on the development and upgrading of the legal professionals in Singapore.
In addition, Lip Chih is a serving member of the Audit Committee of the Tanglin Club. The Tanglin Club is one of the oldest clubs in Singapore.
Lip Chih also serves as a Council Member of a Management Corporation for a condominium development in Singapore.
